OSCARS

The first Academy Awards were held in Hollywood in 1929.  On March 19, 1953, Americans and Canadians saw the Academy Awards on television for the first time.  Bob Hope hosted the Academy Awards in 1939, when “Gone With the Wind” won for Best Picture.   He hosted the Academy Awards the most times – eighteen.
The Academy Awards are often called the “Oscars”.  There are many stories about the name “Oscars”.  The most popular story is that in 1931, Margaret Herrick, who worked as a librarian at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, said the statue looked like her Uncle Oscar.   After that, people started to call the “Academy Awards” the “Oscars”.
People all over the world watched the 84th Academy Awards on February 26, 2012 at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles.  This was Billy Crystal’s ninth time hosting the Academy Awards.  He opened the show by acting in scenes from several fabulous movies.
Before the show, many people like to predict who will win.

In my view of this information it was Oh, In never though that Oscars comes from "Academy Awards.

School on Saturday.

The government plans to introduce school on Saturday mornings in order to improve the level of education. In my view, this would have negative consequences.

In the first place, I belive that, if this law is passed, It will have a negative effect. Parents will spend less time with their children and it will be more difficult to plan a trip at the weekend. In addition, it will be more expensive for the government because it will have to engage more teachers and pay higher electrecity and heating bills. Also it's unfair because students already spend a lot of time at school.
It the aim of the government is to raise the lavel of edecation, I reckon an alternative method would be to revise the contents of books and mark the most important information. Also to reduce the number of students per class would be a good idea.

Glass artist Josh Simpson's fascination with the natural wonders of the universe is evident in his intricate platters, which resemble galaxies, as well as his one-of-a-kind planet-like spheres.

“All of my work has something to do with the perspective of either standing on Earth and looking up at the sky, or being in the sky and looking down at an earth-like planet or even a more fanciful little planet,” he says.

In my opinion is Josh Simpson is an artist with the glass. In this post and add his official page: http://joshsimpson.com/site/

6. Because he is older than me.

Hi Deepika,
I've just met Mario. I'll tell you!

I've just met him in my cousin's macro-party but I had seen him before while I was buying some bread at Mercadona.

He's got brown eyes and brown hair. He is so cute and very polite. He is also a very good person. We've been walking on the beach every day at dark and we've gone on long walks and having an ice cream.

I've been thinking about my relationship with Mario I think he love me a lot but sometimes I change my mind or I think I'm a bit too young for him because he is four years older than me.

What do you reckon?

Love, Sarah

Maria: there' are posters for an anti-drugs campaign. All the students in the school have to say wich one's best, are why.

Sara: Let's see. Mmm... What do you think.

Maria: I can't really decide, but I suppose the one on right has got a clearer message. Do you agree?

Sara: Well, YES AND NO. It's clearer but it isn't very effective.

Maria: Why is that?

Sara: Well, I reckon you should be positive. For me, the one on the right is trying to be scared.

Maria: Mmmm.... You might be right there. Ok?

Sara: OK , Bye Mary

Maria: See you later, bye.

HALLOWEEN

Halloween (also spelled Hallowe'en) is an annual holiday celebrated on October 31. It has roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holy day of All Saints.

Originally Halloween was a pagan festival, around the idea of linking the living with the dead, when contact became possible between the spirits and the physical world, and magical things were more likely to happen. Like most pagan festivals, long ago it was absorbed into the festivals of the expanding Christian church, and became associated with All Hallows Day, or All Saints Day, which eventually fell on November 1.
The celebration of Halloween survived most strongly in Ireland. It was an end of summer festival, and was often celebrated in each community with a bonfire to ward off the evil spirits. Children would go from door to door in disguise as creatures from the underworld to collect treats, mainly fruit, nuts and the like for the festivities. These were used for playing traditional games like eating an apple on a string or bobbing for apples and other gifts in a basin of water, without using your hands. Salt might be sprinkled on the visiting children to ward off evil spirits. Carving turnips as ghoulish faces to hold candles became a popular part of the festival, which has been adapted to carving pumpkins in America.

The day is often associated with the colours black and orange, and is strongly associated with symbols like the jack-o'-lantern. Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, wearing costumes and attending costume parties, ghost tours, bonfires, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories, and watching horror films.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT HALLOWEEN?
When and where is it celebrated?Halloween is celebrated on 31st Octover It's celebrated in USA, CANADA, IRLAND AND UK.

THE ORIGINS OF HALLOWEEN: Halloween began with a festival in Celta and it's the same day of "All Saints"

NAMES 2 TYPICAL GAMES: Dressing up and Trick or treat.

HOW DO PEOPLE CELEBRATE IT TODAY?
In Spain/Catalonia people don't use to do it. But I like it veru much.
